Sorry to be so Gushy…but I really LOVE these speakers. Having owned high-end speaker systems from Logitech, Labtech & Creative, I have always enjoyed good sound for games and music. As time has worn on, I began to play more music and fewer games on my PC. As a result I began looking for a quality 3-piece system to replace my 5-piece surround system.

I currently own 4 sets of 2.1 Promedia speakers and I have been truly amazed and impressed with the sound quality of them. Originally I purchased one set from Best Buy back in 2002 for around $165 and loved it. To my pleasant surprise the owner manual showed how I could connect two 2.1 speaker sets to my computer. Then I had to create this 4.2 beast of a system. So I purchased the second set for Christmas of 2003 for about $120 and I was not disappointed with the quality of the sound they produced. I especially liked how the 2 subs would work in tandem with each other while listening to music and when watching movies it gives the bass a front and dimension making the surround sound more realistic. Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II 2.0 Multimedia Speaker System with BasXPort Technology

Gigaworks, continues to bring satisfaction to their customers with a new addition of the 2nd generation T40 speakers, the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II 2.0 BasXPort Technology. It has not just succeeded its predecessors, but actually went a step ahead and surpassed it.

A noticeable modification in this speaker is the front controls. The latest Gigaworks T40 II uses a power knob and shared volume which is enclosed by a bright blue light while the speakers are on. The design of Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II is similar to that of the T20 which include black plastic cabinets with shiny finish, but bigger this time, about twice the size of T20 and it is a bit heavier too. In the back, there is the power socket, the RCA connection intended for the secondary speaker, a docking port for use with Creative’s various mp3 player docks, and the main 3.5mm stereo jack input. Sockets are all gold plated and well mounted ensuring good connection and a long life over the years to come.

Connecting different media or entertainment devices in this speaker is super easy. With its 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) jack, you can hear the breath-taking sound of your computer, MP3 players, gaming consoles, and even televisions and home entertainment centers. I didn’t have room for a sub on my desk and really wanted some good speakers. I just use them for music. After reading tons of reviews on-line about speakers I finally decided on these. Make sure you get the series 2 though because series 1 has some flaws such as the bright blue light on the front and the power switch being on the back of the speaker. These are great speakers with great sound and look really cool. Well first off, with the high price tag for this pair of PC speakers, what do you get from that? Even though the price is on the high end for a set of 2.0 speakers, there are still many reasons to get really excited and be turned on by the Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 multimedia speakers.

These speakers look great! They  are professional-looking with dark cloth grilles and brush metal trim. The MM-1 compact speakers measure 6.7 inches high by 3.9 inches wide by 3.9 inches deep and has a 3-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter. With a USB connection, you can link the MM-1s to your computer, which then it installs its driver automatically in Macs and Windows PCs.

I’ve been looking for a good set of desktop speakers and of course came across glowing reviews for these speakers in magazines and sites. I heard them at the Apple store and they sounded much better than any other speaker in the store. I needed to replace my old 2.1 desktop speaker system with something new and improved. After searching and reading reviews I got Altec Lansing’s MX6021. Here’s my thoughts after having played around with it for a few weeks.  Placing my order online the box arrived a few days later. I opened up the original box and noticed that the system was packaged really well. The sub-woofer’s driver was covered over with a heavy piece of plastic. Then the entire sub was covered in plastic. The satellites were packaged the same way. The wired remote control, RCA adapter and audio cable were wrapped too. The entire system is then housed in heavy styrofoam. There’s also a complete setup diagram located on the box. It’s nice that Altec Lansing went to that much trouble with the packaging… Review Paraphrased for size – view original review here.

I think this is perfect for people who:  (1)Want to go beyond the $20 system you had in college, but aren’t ready to spend hundreds of dollars on a system (2)Want a unique-looking speaker system. I am SO OVER seeing the square box look. (3)Want a nice rattle-free subwoofer, but can’t/don’t want to turn up to super high volumes. We live in an apartment above a couple with a baby so I don’t think they’d appreciate Junior being lulled to sleep by Metallica. (4)Gamers.
